Kate Boy's new video for their smash single "Higher" out now!

Kate Boy made their mark in the UK last year with the release of ‘Self Control’ and ‘Open Fire’, now the Stockholm based alternative electro poppers are returning with the release of their new single ‘Higher’ on 27th April via Fiction Records.

After premiering on Time.com, Kate Boy have unveiled their enchanting new video for ‘Higher’. Directed by Ben Strebel (Gorgon City and Phoenix), the video echoes the song’s core message of striving for equality in a sometimes dark and challenging world. Shot in the stunning scenery of Northern Sweden, it follows several characters as they fight to throw off their oppressive shackles in order to see just how stunning their surroundings are. On the video Kate Boy says, ‘they one by one are able to see the world as it should be, vibrant and colourful, something they never knew could exist.’

‘ Higher’ is the latest single to be taken from Kate Boy’s highly anticipated debut album, set for release through Fiction Records later this year. ‘Higher’ sees Kate Boy’s ultra-slick production, bellowing bassline and red-blooded beats provide a powerful backline for Kate’s melodic mantra to rise above, building a definitive narrative throughout the band’s phenomenal new release. “’Higher’ for us is about evolving to a higher ground where everybody is equal, no matter who you are, what you believe in or who you love. A fundamental human right that everyone deserves all over the world.” says Kate Boy.

Kate Boy are a Stockholm based trio (Kate Akhurst, Hampus Nordgren and Markus Dextegen) who have been making waves across the globe, armed with their effortlessly catchy electronic beats and sultry vocal hooks. After signing to Fiction Records last year Kate Boy have been in the studio writing and recording their self-produced debut album, following up on their critically acclaimed tracks ‘Northern Lights’, ‘The Way We Are’ and ‘In Your Eyes’ which received praise from the likes of SPIN, V Magazine, Vogue and Pitchfork.
